My vet had always remmocended Science Diet, and I'd been feeding my cat Science Diet Light for years, but he never lost weight. My cat wasn't obese, but he was between 13-15 lbs when he should have been 11-12. No amount of cutting down on servings seemed to have an effect, either.I switched to using Royal Canin Light about 3 months ago, and I've already noticed a huge difference. My cat's weight is down to the target range of 11-12 lbs, but more importantly, he's got a lot more energy. Where he used to sort of mope around the apartment lethargically, he now runs around like a kitten (which he's not!). Our Ruby is a tad over ten yrs old and, although our Vet said try Science Light, the only kind of that avaliable was for cats 6 yrs and under. Then I saw the Royal Canin Light. She's dropped 0.3 of a pound in a little over two weeks. Which is cool 'cause she likes to leap from her condo onto my lap. And the Vet says she likes this food. It is a bit pricier, but Amazon has a bargain for the 15 lb bag w/free ship.

i have an english puppy myeslf, and its bliss. We have tried a few, and the one she seems to love is Hills it is a vet brand made for LARGE BREED puppies. Make sure you always feed them large breed puppy food as they need different nutrients than other puppies.My vet also recommends Nutri-Source. It is the BEST brand for the English . Hi i used to have 2 German shepherds, great dogs, i miss mine so much, never mind all that, you do have to be care full about the dry food you give them, as they could get prbloems in there back legs when they get abit older, so try to find a dry food with a low pro teen in it, i used to feed my dogs with most of the food i eat, as if it was good for me it was good for them, but mine loved any thing,but not tinned dog food, would you eat it, at most pet shops in the UK sell frozen dog meat, and fish,I would some times with them that with rice, or pasta, and veg if i was having something my dogs did not eat, i found it a lot cheaper, and put a little touch of olive oil in there food,this is great for there coats, and joint. i hope that helpped thank you kim
